Faces of past and present

Upon our visit to the Library of Congress, I noticed some interesting faces. Some perplexed, some angry, some stoic, some witnessing history:

These faces were not so different from the faces depicted today, of those misjudged, mistreated, who may be scared and frustrated:

Through it all, the Library of Congress's walls endure. We come to admire those walls and find solace from what lies outside.

 And yet, we can still find serenity outside, sometimes when it's least expected.
